Custom-Engineered Low Headroom Hoist

A major paper products converter turned to David Round with a significant challenge: how could it increase the productivity of its roll handling operation which had these severe hoist restrictions:

• very low headroom available
• required high lift speed (30 ft./min. @ 5 tons)
• very tight turn radius (5 feet)

David Round was the only hoist manufacturer to respond to its needs. We custom engineered a low headroom hoist which permitted a 30% increase in roll diameter, with a resulting huge increase in line capacity. The delighted customer purchased nine units.
